Borscht is a hot filling soup based on beetroot, which gives it a characteristic red color.

Section 1. Ingredients
• Bone with meat – 1 kg
• Potatoes – 0.5 kg
• Carrot – 0.2 kg
• Cabbage – 0.5 kg
• Onion – 1 piece
• Bulgarian pepper – 1 piece
• Tomato – 1 tablespoon
• Beetroot – 1 piece
• Cooking time 2-3 hours
Section 2. Step-by-step instructions
1.Pour cold water into a saucepan, lay out the meat and put it on medium heat. The broth will taste better if you use meat on the bone.
2.While the meat is cooking, we will make a roast. Wash and peel the beets, carrots, onions and bell peppers. Grate beets, carrots and peppers on a grater. Cut the onion into small cubes.
3.Fry the onion and carrot in a frying pan with heated oil, stirring, for about 5 minutes. Then add the tomato.
4.When the broth is cooked, remove the meat from it. While it cools down, pour the chopped cabbage into the pan. After 5-10 minutes, add the potatoes cut into strips or cubes.
5.While the potatoes are cooking, separate the meat from the bone and cut into cubes. Return it to the soup. Add salt to taste. Add the roast and stir. Cover the pan with a lid and cook for another 5-7 minutes
